Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last Updated: September 28, 2026
Effective date: September 28, 2026. Version: 1.6.
This policy is offered by First Gear AI LLC, a Texas limited liability company, and is part of your Terms of Service.
1. What You Pay
There is one package: a one-time setup fee, then a monthly subscription, in the amounts shown at checkout and confirmed in your receipt. The setup fee covers building and provisioning the dedicated Supabase project we run for you, and the guided sessions in which we configure it alongside you and hand it over in working order. The monthly subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
Your Claude subscription is paid directly to Anthropic under your own account and at their current rates. That is your own vendor relationship. Cancelling First Gear AI does not cancel it, and cancelling it does not cancel First Gear AI. Supabase is not like that: you never buy or maintain a database account of your own, because the dedicated project sits inside our Supabase organization and we pay for it out of the monthly fee.
2. Cancelling Your Subscription
Cancel any time, effective at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after you cancel. Ways to cancel, in the same medium you used to sign up:
- Online: the Billing section of your account settings, which opens your billing portal. You can cancel there yourself. If we show you a retention offer, a prominent click-to-cancel option appears alongside it, and clicking it processes your cancellation immediately.
- Email: hello@firstgear.ai with the word “cancel.” Your cancellation is effective the day you send it, whether or not we reply, and it takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again.
We do not obstruct or delay cancellation, and you never need to call to cancel an online purchase.
3. What Happens After You Cancel
Your data stays yours and your Claude subscription is unaffected. What stops is our part: platform maintenance, configuration updates, and support end when your paid period ends.
While your subscription is active you can export everything, in a standard format, from the download in your desk, and take it wherever you want. No request, no permission, no wait. The Supabase project itself stays with us, because it is ours and we pay for it.
Leaving is not losing, but it does have a clock. Your desk stays up and your data stays exportable for 30 days from the day you cancel, and never for less than the rest of the period you already paid for. When that window closes we keep your locked copy, free, so you can take it or come back. Only your key opens it. Ask us to delete it at any point and we delete it within 30 days and clear backups within 90 days. Section 11 of the Data Processing Addendum sets out the full mechanics.
4. Monthly Fees and Refunds
Monthly fees are charged at the start of each billing period and are non-refundable once the period begins, except: (a) where required by law; (b) if we materially fail to provide the Service during a period and cannot cure it, in which case we refund that period on request; (c) if a material change to the Terms that you decline takes effect mid-period, we refund the unused remainder pro rata; and (d) duplicate or erroneous charges, always.
5. Setup Fee
The one-time setup fee pays for the build and provisioning of your dedicated system. It is earned when that work begins and is not refundable, except where the law requires or where Section 4(b) applies to the setup itself. You agree to this at checkout before you pay.
This is separate from cancelling. You can cancel the monthly subscription at any time under Section 2, and the data in the system we built stays yours either way: export everything, and we keep a locked copy for you as described in Section 3.
6. Renewal Notices
At checkout you see the renewal terms plainly and give express consent before paying. We email an acknowledgment with the terms and how to cancel, and we keep the consent record for at least 3 years. We notify you before any price change takes effect per the Terms of Service. California subscribers also receive the annual reminder California law requires, stating the product, the frequency and amount of charges, and how to cancel.
7. Failed Payments
If a charge fails we notify you and retry over 14 days. During that window the Service continues. If payment is not cured, suspension and termination follow the Terms of Service. Your data remains yours throughout, you can export it at any point, and the locked copy we keep under Section 3 applies the same way.
8. How Refunds Are Paid
Approved refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval, via Stripe.
9. Questions or Disputes About a Charge
Write to hello@firstgear.ai first. This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Where they overlap, this policy controls for refunds and cancellation mechanics.
10. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
